Photographer and gallery owner Antoine Gaussin and ourselves share a vision of art and an unconditional love for the work of our artists. When we met at a contemporary art fair four years ago, we embarked on our first successful collaboration on the Ile de Ré. Today, we are exhibiting our artists together in the spectacular former cinema of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, "L'Atlantic". This legendary venue on the island was the ideal location for a gallery, with its huge windows that let the light flood in. We were delighted to see so many of you at the opening, and hope to see you there this summer!

"The links between cinema and contemporary art have been the common thread running through the entire project since its inception. An art gallery, like a cinema, is structurally designed to strategically control light. What's more, I like to think that the characteristics that distinguish the seventh art are not very far removed from my definition of a gallery: a stage, a theatre, a neutral box that can take in visions and beauty and present them to the public. My aim is precisely to recreate in the courtyard of the Quai Job Foran the same amazement as that of the 'dream machine' that preceded us, not through 24 images per second, but through more than 70 meters of exhibition walls." - Antoine Gaussin
